Dr. Chiu-Cheng Chang, BBA (Taiwan), BS (Oregon), MA(Tennessee), Ph.D.(Cincinnati), FSA, FCIA, FAIRC, FSII, CLU, ChFC, MAAA, is currently Professor, Graduate Institute of Management and Department of Business Administration, Chang Gung University, Taiwan. Professor Chang's long career in academic institutions and insurance industry spans over 30 years and covers six countries. He has taught at various universities in the U.S.A. (Ohio State University, University of Cincinnati, University of Tennessee), Taiwan (Tam Kang University, Chairman, Department of Business Administration and Director, Graduate Institute of Management, Chang Gung University) and Singapore (Associate Professor & Director, Center for Health Care Economics & Management, Nanyang Technological University). In the insurance industry, he has held various senior executive positions such as Managing Director of CIGNA's Taiwan operation, President & CEO of Western International Insurance Company in California, U.S.A., President & CEO of Shinung Life Insurance Company in Taiwan. Prof. Chang has also been a consultant and advisor to the Ministry of Finance, of both the Republic of China and the Republic of Singapore. He has also been a consulting actuary for a number of multinational insurance and reinsurance companies and regional and local insurance companies. Currently, he is a consultant to the World Bank and advisor & consultant to Taiwan's new government. Prof. Chang has been very active in academic, actuarial, insurance and management conferences as a speaker, lecturer, panelist, commentator, workshop chairman, debater and discussant. He has published widely in mathematics, actuarial science, insurance, risk management, health care, social security, pension and strategic vision and management. As of now, Prof. Chang has published six books in English by well-known publishers such as Addison Wesley, Prentice Hall, World Scientific etc., about sixty papers in English and over forty articles in Chinese. He is now working on his seventh and eighth books simultaneously. Since his return to Taiwan in 1996, Prof. Chang has been writing prolifically for a number of newspapers in Taiwan as a columnist.
