Biographical Sketch: Mary Frances Miller is a founder and senior consulting actuary with Select Actuarial Services, a property/casualty risk management consulting practice based in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mary Frances graduated from the Honors College at Michigan State University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Mathematics and Linguistics. She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter. She was elected an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (UK) in 2005. She has been an active contributor to the actuarial profession since achieving fellowship in 1988, and has chaired numerous CAS committees and task forces, particularly in the admissions area. She has served as Vice-President for Admissions of the CAS and was its President in 2004.
Mary Frances has served on several committees of the American Academy of Actuaries, including the Committee on Qualifications and the Casualty Practice Council. She was a member of the drafting committees for ASOPs 36 and 43. She currently chairs the International Actuarial Association’s Education Committee.
Mrs. Miller had the honor to serve as the President of the American Academy of Actuaries for fiscal year 2011.
