Biographical Sketch:
Lee has several years of experience at direct insurers and reinsurers. He is currently responsible for R&D and mortality research and pricing throughout Africa at Munich Re.

 

Specialist skills include modelling the demographic and financial impact of HIV and AIDS in Southern Africa and assessing the impact on the financial stability of an African financial services sector, commissioned by the World Bank.

Lee is completing a masters degree on the survival and excess mortality of South Africans living with HIV or Type II Diabetes in collaboration with a medical scheme administrator and the University of Cape Town department of medicine.

Lee completed a BSc (cum laude) (Hons) in actuarial science at Wits and is a member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and the Actuarial Society of South Africa, in particular the AIDS committee where he is responsible for sub-population models used by insurers.
