Biographical Sketch: Doug Andrews is Director, Master of Actuarial Science Program at the University of Waterloo, where he teaches actuarial science and conducts research. His research has an international dimension and focuses on financial and social policy issues with respect to support systems for aging populations.
Doug holds a BA and a MBA from the University of Toronto and a MA and a PhD from the University of Waterloo. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA), a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA), and a Chartered Financial Analyst. He is an elected member of the Pension Benefits and Social Security Section of the International Actuarial Association and has served as an elected member of the Investment Section Council of the SOA. He has also served on a number of committees within the CIA and the SOA. He is a member of the National Academy of Social Insurance.
