Biographical Sketch: Matthias Börger is a consultant at the Institut für Finanz- und Aktuarwissenschaften (ifa), an actuarial consulting firm based in Ulm, Germany. His main area of expertise is insurance risk management, with a focus on the modeling and management of biometric risks, in particular longevity risk. He is a member of the German Society of Actuaries and holds a PhD in actuarial mathematics from Ulm University.
Matthias works on topics related to mortality and longevity risk also from an academic perspective. He has published several papers in this field and his research has earned him the Gauss Prize of the German Society of Actuaries.
