Biographical Sketch: Mr Peter Sohre, Managing Director, Risk Management, Swiss Reinsurance Company, Switzerland

Peter Sohre heads the Group Risks & Analytics department of Swiss Re Group and is an Executive Team member of the Risk Management Division. He has global responsibility for the Group Risk Governance, Risk Modelling, risk data management processes and the operation of Swiss Re’s Group Risk Model for regular risk reporting and Swiss Solvency Test reporting to FINMA.

Before joining risk management he was consulting European insurance clients of Swiss Re in the application of dynamic financial analysis (DFA) for asset-liability-management (ALM) and strategic asset allocation (SAA). He started his career in Swiss Re by working with various Divisions on Strategy Development and the implementation of Value Based Management (VBM).

Before joining Swiss Re in 1997, Peter was a strategy consultant with Bain & Company and a research fellow at the Centre for Business Cycle Research at the Federal Institute of Technology (KOF/ETH) inZurichand at the Institute for Empirical Research at theUniversityofSt. Gall(FEW/HSG).

Peter holds a diploma in industrial engineering from the University of Karlsruhe/Germany and a PhD in economics of the University of St. Gall (HSG)/Switzerland.
