Biographical Sketch: Roger Grenier is Director of Catastrophe Research and Development for Liberty Mutual Insurance. Roger is responsible for developing the Liberty View of vendor catastrophe models as well as analyzing sources of non-modeled catastrophe risk worldwide. Prior to joining Liberty, Roger was a Vice President with catastrophe modeling firm AIR Worldwide, where he held numerous positions in research, model development, consulting and product management over an 11 year period. Before entering the insurance industry Roger worked for several years as consulting engineer specializing in environmental modeling and coastal engineering projects. He has authored several papers on natural hazards modeling and risk assessment and held a post-doctoral position in the NCSU-Kenan Natural Hazards Mapping Program at North Carolina State University. Roger holds a BS in civil engineering from Tufts University, a Masters in water resources engineering from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in civil engineering from North Carolina State University.
