IAA Team Spotlight - Amali Seneviratne

Amali Seneviratne, a talented actuary and long-time member of the International Actuarial Association team.

Amali joined the IAA in 2012 and has been supporting technical committees and task forces across a wide range of global actuarial topics ever since.


She is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, and a Fellow of the Actuarial Association of Sri Lanka.
Before moving to Canada, she worked as a life actuary in Sri Lanka for over 16 years, helping establish the local actuarial association.

“I most enjoy connecting and working with actuaries from around the world and contributing—behind the scenes—to the continued development of the global profession,” says Amali.

Fun facts: When she began her career in the 1990s, there were only three local actuaries in Sri Lanka.

She enjoys travelling, Zumba, experimenting in the kitchen, playing the piano, and trying a few chords on the ukulele.
