IAALS Webinar: Private Credit and the Changing Architecture of Finance 

Private Credit has been making headlines, for better and for worse. But what exactly is Private Credit, how did it become such a significant part of the financial landscape and why has it attracted so much attention, recently? 

This seminar takes a closer look at the rapid rise of Private Credit and places recent developments into a broader historical perspective. The rise of Private Credit, the disintermediation of banks and the changing financial landscape will be explored. 

This seminar will also address some of the concerns around software exposure, valuation and liquidity that surfaced this year. Beyond the headlines the seminar will also cover the opportunities that Private Credit provides. 

Speaker: Danny Dieleman

Danny Dieleman is the founder and owner of D-Squared Capital, providing independent advisory services to financial institutions in the areas of balance sheet management, valuation, capital management and risk management.

After completing his PhD in physics, Danny joined ING Bank in 1999 as a Quantitative Analyst at the Structured Products Trading Desk. He subsequently held various roles within ING’s Market Risk and Credit Risk departments, where he developed models for amongst others prepayment risk in mortgage portfolios, and interest rate risk of saving accounts.

In 2003 he becam head of the Portfolio Modelling Department, where he led the development of ING’s Credit Risk Economic Capital model. In this role he also developed and implemented ING’s credit risk stress testing framework.

In 2015 he joined ING’s Commercial Property Finance team and subsequently moved to the Mergers and Acquisitions team. In the M&A team he was responsible for various investments in Fintech Companies. He later joined ING’s Wholesale Bank, as a Director in the Credit Treasury Department. In this role he initiated and executed portfolio and individual loan sales with a focus to pro-actively managing the balance sheet of ING Wholesale Bank.

Drawing on more than two decades of experience in banking, quantitave modelling, risk management, and balance sheet optimisation, Danny advices financial institutions om complex strategic and financial matters.
