7th African Actuarial Congress – Cotonou, Benin

Audience: All

From March 22 to 24, the 7th African Actuarial Congress brought together actuarial professionals from across the continent for two days of insightful discussions and meaningful exchanges.

This landmark event highlighted key topics shaping the future of the profession in Africa, including Insurtech and innovation, climate risk, and inclusive insurance and financial inclusion strategies.

The congress opened with welcome remarks from IAA President Mike Lombardi and APSA President Landry Degla, setting the tone for impactful conversations and collaboration.

Throughout the event, one message stood out clearly: The future of insurance in Africa will be driven by stronger collaboration between regulators, actuaries, and industry leaders, supported by robust risk management and forward-looking supervision.

Strong ideas, committed experts, and an incredible collective energy to advance the actuarial profession across Africa.

Looking ahead, the International Congress of Actuaries 2029 ICA 2029 will take place in Nairobi, Kenya, continuing this momentum.
