Participants are invited to register by 30 October via the Council and Committee Meetings registration page .

The IAA also reminds participants that the International Congress of Actuaries (ICA 2026) will follow the Council and Committee Meetings at the Tokyo International Forum.
Early-bird registration for ICA 2026 closes on 15 July. The plenary and concurrent session program has been announced. Further details and registration are available via the official ICA 2026 website.
IAA at European Congress of Actuaries in Paris

The IAA is participating in the European Congress of Actuaries (ECA), hosted by the Institut des actuaires in Paris.
IAA President-elect Max Happacher delivered closing remarks on Day 1 and extended an invitation to ICA2026 Tokyo.
IAA Sections are represented on site by Georgios Symeonidis and Christian Levac, showcasing the new Section brochure and highlighting the benefits of membership.
The IAA also notes with appreciation the visibility of its AI Task Force work across multiple sessions during the congress.

New Risk Book Chapter on Conduct of Business Published

The Insurance Regulation Committee has approved and published a new chapter of the Risk Book focused on Conduct of Business (COB)—an important area of risk management across the insurance sector. The chapter explores the many ways actuaries contribute, both directly and indirectly, to identifying, assessing, and managing COB risks across products offered by life, general insurance, and health insurers, while also highlighting interactions with supervisory authorities.
We extend our sincere thanks to the chapter authors and the Risk Book Editorial Board for their dedication and expertise in bringing this valuable resource to fruition.

New ASTIN Masterclass - Integrated Risk and Capital Management for General Insurers

The ASTIN Board is pleased to announce the release of its fourth Masterclass, featuring Yuriy Krvavych and Richard Rodriguez on Integrated Risk and Capital Management for General Insurers.
This session explores how integrated risk and capital management contributes to value creation in insurance, an industry characterised by inherent uncertainty, complex exposures, and dynamic market conditions. Drawing on practical experience, the speakers examine the insurance value chain, market dynamics, and the definition of risk appetite, while highlighting the multidisciplinary nature of modern actuarial work across actuarial science, finance, technology, and natural sciences.
The Masterclass also provides insights into building risk intelligence, applying dynamic capital management frameworks, and supporting decision-making under uncertainty.

Reminder - Invitation to Host IAA Council and Committee Meetings (2029 – 2031)
Audience: All Full Member Associations (Presidents, Council Delegates, Correspondents and Chief Staff Officers)
We are seeking host invitations for five meeting slots spanning Q4 2029 through Q4 2031 from Full Member Associations:
- 2029 (Q4): Small meeting in the EUR or USC regions, given that the Q2 large meeting will be held in Kenya (ALOA), in conjunction with ICA 2029.
- 2030 (Q2 and Q4): One small and one large meeting. Note: An invitation has already been received for the Q4 slot and will be reviewed at the close of the solicitation period alongside any other submissions.
- 2031 (Q2 and Q4): One small and one large meeting
We warmly encourage Full Member Associations to consider submitting an invitation to host one of these meetings. Hosting offers a valuable opportunity to:
- Showcase your association and the actuarial profession in your country or region; and
- Strengthen relationships with the broader international actuarial community.
If your association is interested in hosting, please review the following IAA policies related to hosting and complete the meeting invitation form by 31 July 2026.
