Council and Committee Meetings in Ljubljana

The IAA meetings in Ljubljana brought together committees and delegates from around the world for discussions on AI, climate risk, regulation, actuarial standards, and the future growth of the profession.
Key sessions covered AI governance, sustainability initiatives, actuarial standards, and talent development, while the Town Hall moderated by Mike Lombardi focused on global workforce challenges and opportunities for the profession.
The meetings also included preparations for future international events, including International Congress of Actuaries 2026 and International Congress of Actuaries 2029.
The week concluded with the IAA Council approving several important decisions, including the adoption of CPD requirements for Full Member Associations and the recommendation of Lisa Wade as IAA President for 2028.
IAA Welcomes Asociación de Actuarios del Perú as New Associate Member

The International Actuarial Association is delighted to welcome the Asociación de Actuarios del Perú (AAP) as a new associate member.
We look forward to working closely with AAP, which is dedicated to promoting actuarial knowledge and professionalism while advancing the importance of actuarial work across Peru's public and private sectors in service of the public interest.
We are excited to support their growth and collaborate on advancing the actuarial profession throughout Peru and the broader Latin American region.
Life Section Research Grants - Call for Applications

Applications are now open for the Life Section Research Grants. Members are invited to submit research proposals for consideration. The deadline for proposal submissions is 15 June 2026, with successful applicants to be notified by 31 August 2026

Under the theme “Actuarial Intelligence: Where Ethics Meets Expertise”, professionals and researchers are invited to submit abstracts by 6 November 2026.
