IAA Represents Profession at OECD WPIP Meeting

Marika Guralnik represented the International Actuarial Association (IAA) at the OECD Working Party on Insurance and Pensions (WPIP) meeting in Paris on 10–11 September 2025.
The meeting focused on the status of IFRS 17 and its impact on OECD insurance data collection, alongside a review of the recent WPIP report on the topic. Marika presented practitioner perspectives on the roll-out of the IFRS17 reporting requirements; highlighting key challenges for the insurance industry and its stakeholders.


IAA to Strengthen Global Engagement with World Bank through New Relationship Management Team

Earlier this month, the IAA Executive Committee officially approved the formation of a dedicated Relationship Management Team to enhance collaboration with the World Bank. Led by Assia Billig as Relationship Manager and Tonya Manning as Deputy, the team will bring actuarial expertise to key global initiatives in social protection, pension reform, and capacity building in developing countries. This important appointment underscores the IAA’s commitment to advancing its Impact and Assure priorities while amplifying its global influence, enabling the organization to engage effectively with international stakeholders and contribute meaningful actuarial insights on a worldwide scale.

IAA CONSULTATION - Exposure Draft of Proposed Revisions to ISAP 1 - General Actuarial Practice
Audience: Presidents and Council Delegates of IAA Full Member Associations
Please refer to the transmittal memorandum from Greg Martin, Chair, Actuarial Standards Committee (ASC) of the IAA, regarding the exposure draft of proposed revisions to the International Standard of Actuarial Practice 1 (ISAP 1) on General Actuarial Practice, and with the associated glossary.
The exposure draft was prepared by the ISAP 1 Review Task Force of the ASC and duly approved by the Actuarial Standards Committee (ASC) in accordance with IAA’s due process for developing International Standards of Actuarial Practice.
The deadline to submit comments is 18 January 2026.
