Dear ASTIN Colleagues,

The 2007 ASTIN Colloquium is quickly approaching. The Organizing and Scientific Committees would like to warmly welcome you at the 37th ASTIN Colloquium. This year’s event will be held 19-22 June 2007 at the world renowned Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, United States.

Since ASTIN was established in New York City in 1957, the 2007 Colloquium is a celebration of its 50th anniversary. The Casualty Actuarial Society is delighted to host ASTIN as it celebrates its jubilee.

Wednesday’s opening day sessions of ASTIN 2007 will be held in conjunction with the Casualty Actuarial Society’s Spring Meeting. If you wish to register for both the ASTIN Colloquium and the CAS Spring Meeting, you will receive a discount off your registration fee. The Colloquium promises to provide outstanding learning and networking opportunities. We have arranged four very thought-provoking speakers and have received a number of papers in response to our call. The CAS is eager to provide an evocative setting for general insurance actuaries from around the world to exchange knowledge and ideas as well as form and nurture intellectual relationships.

The following pages detail both the scientific and leisure programs as well as the concluding event—the 50th Anniversary Gala to be held Friday evening at Epcot®. The excursion on Thursday afternoon to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center is an event I am very much anticipating.
